Damian Wakefield, husband, father of two, partner services manager at Softcat and now world chile eating champion!

Damian Wakefield has now been crowned world chile eating champion after a monumental performance on Tuesday night!

Damian saw off competion from all over the village to win the title and promptly declared he could eat even more! "I was only a bit peckish tonight, you should have seen me in Amsterdam - I stopped at every kebab shop in the city one night and I was that hungry I even ate the salad!!!"

Bewildered onlookers could only gasp as the "Mexican Mountain" devoured the equivalent of two and a half cows, 66 onions 50 red peppers, 809 tomatoes and 44 kilograms of basmati in an hour and sixteen minutes.

When asked what his motivation for the record was, Damian was modest "hunger mostly, but you have to keep on top of the other lads, you can't have them thinking they are big time eaters like me"

Damian Wakefield has attarcted attention from the United States Burger Eating Association as his failure to appear for his country means that he could qualify to represent them in the upcoming FATLAD Series, however Damian has yet to comment on the rumours.
